4MILLION NIGERIANS ARE STILL WAITING FOR PREPAID METERS

According to the interview of the Acting NERC Chairman, Dr. Anthony Aka, with the News Agency of Nigeria NAN, on Saturday in Uyo, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission has disclosed that 4million Nigerians are still waiting for prepaid meters.

According to Anthony, the NERC had advanced on metering system, but describing the shortage of provision of meters to customers is due to hindrances from manufacturing company.

He said; any Electricity Distribution Company that failed to comply with directives relating to the distribution of prepaid meters would face sanction by the commission

“It is our responsibility to ensure compliance with the metering schedule."

He also noted the customers to wait 60 days after payment of the meter.
