BUHARI'S SUPPORTERS BLOCK BBOG PROTESTERS, "SAY WITH BUHARI WE STAND"
President Buhari supporters on Tuesday clashed with members of the BringBackOurGirls, BBOG, advocacy group, as the campaigners make an entrance to the presidential villa. While the BBOG group was campaigning for the release of the over 200 missing Chibok schoolgirls abducted in April 2014 by extremist sect, Boko Haram.
After a recent video of the Chibok schoolgirls was released by Boko Haram, BBOG announced its decision to be marching to the villa every 72 hours until President Muhammadu Buhari briefs them of an immediate plan to rescue the girls who have been in captivity since 2014.
However, almost halfway to the presidential villa at the Three Arms Zone on Tuesday, the protesters were blocked by members of anti-riot policemen led by the police deputy commissioner, M. D. Garba.
The group eventually made their ways to the entrance of the presidential villa as they met a group identified as "With Buhari We Stand". The group spotted on white polo shirt and face cap, blocked the path of BBOG campaigners and called for an end to the demonstration, saying the President is “a man of peace” whose mission to “move the nation forward” should not be disrupted.
Idris King, the spokesperson for the group, described the #BringBackOurGirls group as a scam, sponsored to undermine the administration of the APC.
The group chanted: “We are for peace. Buhari is a man of peace.”
