FINALLY, BUHARI SPEAKS ON BIAFRA REFERENDUM

President Muhammadu Buhari has rule out any possibility for referendum as a way to bring restoration and stop Biafra agitators.

He made the following statement during his media event in New York City that marked end of his visit to the United States as the leader of Nigeria's delegation to the 71th United Nations' General Assembly.

Buhari stated that the Biafran Activists should form political party as the option left to advance their interest within the Nigerian democratic space.

The statement comes after the worldwide protest conducted by Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on 23 September, which grounded the activities in the South East, and South-South of Nigeria by Sit-At-Home protest, demanding the release  of IPOB's leader and director of Radio Biafra Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from prison

Recalled that Buhari criticized the Biafran agitators, describing them as kids who did not experienced Nigeria civil war while speaking addressing Youth Corp members who visited him at his country home in Daura.

Those who work hard will earn a respectable living. I have seen this country, I fought for this country and I will continue to work for the unity of this country. 'Tell your colleagues who want Biafra to forget about it'.
Media personnel at the event were disappointed that the president was not going to take questions from the media despite the event being tagged a press conference. At the insistence of SaharaTV's Adeola Fayehun, the president reconsidered the position and took just three questions. He also granted a ten-minute interview to the Hausa Service of the Voice of America.
