THE HYPOCRITE REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA
The writer on his opinion analysis the frozen of the wife of former president Goodluck Jonathan as abused without court order, but frown at Economic and Financial Crime Commission EFCC, for their biased and double standard system.
Ernest wrote;
When Dambasau was deliberately and unapologetically exonerated from the Defence Arm Deal probe, the EFCC kept quiet. When our collective intelligence was abused by a Government who told us bluntly that Buratai saved to buy the two houses in Dubai, EFCC turned deaf ears.Ernest Okoduwa
Now because the person in the picture is a southerner (so it seems) , who as far as the northernized EFCC is concerned is a slave with no right to own properties, they have not only frozen the account without due process or court order, they have rolled out their drums in sickening hypocritical show of shame.
I have nothing against the probe of corrupt leaders who looted our collective wealth. But we cannot continue to maintain double standards and justice system and yet spin the dead rhetorics of a one Nigeria or anti-corruption war. Nigerians are not stupid, neither are we all blinded by partisanship. If we want to fight corruption, then let it be seen to be holistic, exhaustive and thorough.
You cannot be protecting certain persons, which itself is corruption and at the same time talking about anti-corruption. This is nothing but moral ambivalence and it does not add up. Any anti-corruption war that is not based on inclusive institutional principles is nothing but witch hunt and ethnic profiling. Let the change begin with EFCC.
