UNITY BANK SACKS 215 WORKERS

Unity Bank Plc has reportedly sacked at least 215 employees.

According the Bank, those workers were reportedly sacked for their lack of the ability to deal with the new ideas and strategy of the institution.

Despite the claim that the development was part of Unity Bank termed;
reengineering strategy for greater performance, the economic situation of the country might have been a factor.
However, some of the workers that have been sacked have purported injustice in the way they were relieved.
They dismissed the “reengineering strategy” reason being sold to the public by Unity Bank, insisting that the downsizing was a deliberate action to cut staff strength to reduce cost.
