The Nigerian economics professor and the immediate past Governor and chairman of the board of directors of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and also a member of the British Department for International Development's International Advisory Group, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has recently explained the marginalization of Igbos based on the instrument of surrender.

Soludo said,

Biafra surrendered based on the three(3) conditions, according to Ofordile, who argued that the structure of Nigeria is contrary to the instrument of surrender of Biafra.
