5 SUSPECTED OIL THIEVES ARRESTED IN IKOT ABASI

The Nigerian navy has nabbed 5 suspected oil thieves in the Local Government of Ikot Abasi  Area of Akwa Ibom state.

"The suspects were handed over to the Commander of the Security and Civil Defense Forces of Nigeria," the commander of the Jubilee Nance Brigadier General Seydou Garba told reporters.

"Commanders during a routine patrol intercepted two vehicles and arrested the suspects with 1150 liters of gasoline.

He added that "the arrest came in intensive patrols on the marine environment as a result of intelligence information about the oil thieves working in the region" Grappa.

He reiterated his determination to deal decisively with crude oil thieves, pirates, sabotage of pipelines and other criminals in the region to intervene.
