KANTE HAS A LONG WAY TO GO BEFORE REACHING MY LEVEL - MAKELELE
Former defensive midfielder Claude Makelele warned that N'golo Kante still has a long way to go before reaching his level.
Makelele, however, revealed his admiration for the current Chelsea midfielder.
Kante helped Chelsea to the Premier League title in the just-ended season.
It was his second Premier League title in as many years, having also occupied the engine room for the unforgettable Leicester City campaign in 2015-16.
But Makelele believes that the real test of Kante's courage will come next season with Chelsea adding the Champions League to their schedule.
He told reporters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, "Currently, Kante is special and one of the best midfielder.
"The problem is that I played 25 years in football at this level and that the comparisons are poorly conducted.
"This season, he has not played in the Champions League. Every four days there will be games.
"With the national team, there will be games, there will be plenty of games, he must have this experience.
"When he is at this level, he will not work 90 minutes all the time. He will have to listen to the rhythm as he plays.
"It will be the key to him, I hope it will be the situation, I hope he will do better than me in my career."
