NORTHERN ELDERS BACK AREWA YOUTHS ON 3-MONTHS QUICK NOTICE

Ango Abdullahi, a spokesman for the Northern Elders' Forum, NEF, confirmed on Friday the appeal of the Northern Youth Coalition asking Igbos to leave the region in three months.

Abdullahi, addressing journalists in Zaria, Kaduna State rebuked the Northern Governors Forum for refusing the group, an action he called "disappointment."

The NEF spokesman said it was hypocritical that the Igbos continue to live in other parts of the country while waving the breakup of Nigeria. According to Abdullahi, "I am disappointed with the decision taken by the Northern Governors Forum to deny and condemn the agitation of these young agile and progressive youth groups.

"Let me ask these northern governors whom they represent, represent spirits, ghosts or northerners? Leave the advice to Igbos: the northern elders join the young Arewa, say that any injured person should leave

"Recently, the people of the eastern part of this country, especially Igbo, were busy asking for the sovereign state of Biafra and all indications, their leaders, including the governors, are behind them."He stressed that anyone who feels Nigeria "is not conducive to him" let him stop, adding that what the Northern youth groups did was not a sin.

Already none of the governors of the North has reacted to the persistent call for the update of Biafra and other unrest, Abdullahi said when Nnamdi Kanu was released on bail recently, more than 100 vehicles escorted him In his residence, including great personalities from the south-west and south-east.

"It was someone who was agitating for the breakup of Nigeria, but his people were behind him, so I'm behind the youth.

"It's because northern youth are being pushed to the wall, we have calmed them down in any case similar to this one," he noted.
