HERDSMEN ATTACK IS DISASTROUS – GOVERNOR ORTOM

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue, through his Deputy, Mr Benson Aboun has commended and complimented the work of Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai, on his actions towards invasion of the herdsmen on 14 local government areas of the state.

Benson, on Tuesday stated that when the Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai paid him a courtesy call.

He said;

Today, we have relative peace because the army was able to contain the herdsmen and push them back. We recognise the importance of the military.

The governor commended Buratai, saying

since you became chief of army staff, we have seen the difference. What seemed to be impossible have been done, you have decimated the Boko Haram insurgents.

According to Buratai, he was in the state for the quarterly Chief of Army Staff Conference.

He also informed the governor that the army had renovated the broken down water treatment at the North bank of the river Benue to meet the water needs of people in the immediate community, as well as barracks in the area.
