HOUSE OF REPS MEMBERS IN ROWDY OVER BUDGET PADDING

The House of Reps clashed and thrown into rowdy at Wednesday sitting over the budget disagreement between the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, former Chairman, House Committee on Appropriations, Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin and House of Representatives.

However, the noise and breakdown of law and order started when motion sponsored by the Chairman, House Committee on Rules and Business, Hon. Orker Jev, drew the attention of the House to the spurious allegations made by the former Chairman.

While making reference to the House Rules, he pointed out that Jibrin as a ranking member of the House of Representatives knew well how to go about issues but was busy in the media dragging the House into a mess.

Jev stated

Mr. Speaker, you remember that for quite sometime, Hon. Jibrin Abdulmumin has been busy making spurious allegations against your person and certain members which in my considered opinion amounts to breach of House Rule.

while on the point, the session went rowdy in an organized manner as if it has been planned to obstruct the session when such issues were being raised.

However, Dogara had a hectic day calling for calm nerves, and eventually referred the matter to Committee on Ethics and Privileges amid shouts of ‘Dogara’.
