DINO MELAYE: KOGI VOTERS FILE SUIT TO STOP THE REVOCATION PROCESS

Concerned Kogi Registered Voters (CKRV) have filed a lawsuit in a Federal High Court in Abuja seeking to stop the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from beginning verification of signatures collected to remind Senator Dino Melaye, representing Kogi West in the Senate.

Addressing journalists in Abuja yesterday, the group's convener, Olowosayo Gabriel Domingo, stated that the names of the dead and people who did not reside in the district appeared in the withdrawal register submitted to INEC.

Applicants, who frowned at the 188,000 signatures presented to the INEC, pointed out that while 111,534 voted in the general election in Kogi West, the total number of registered voters in Kogi West was 360,098.

According to a copy of the motion that was made available to journalists, INEC, who was the first respondent, was sued along with eight other respondents, including some aides to Governor Yahaya Bello and state senators from the senator's district.
