IS THERE A WAY OUT

As I said earlier, on  my previous article Titled Unbridled Corruption In Nigeria, corruption has penetrated into every nook and cranny of our sectors. No sector or agency in Nigeria is corrupt free, Therefore, talking about absolute eradication of corruption would be dwelling in perpetual optimism. instead I would like us gear towards amelioration of corruption. After all, western civilization was not achieved in a day.



A country like America fought many civil wars to be where they are today, but in our case, I am soliciting that we can achieve whatever we want even without shedding blood, all hands must be on deck for the eradication of corruption, every offence deserves a justified punishment which should be served.

Our lawyers and Judges should know that injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. They should therefore set the standard for us by avoiding perversion of justice and also serve as veritable check on the executives and the legislatives. we must note here that system for checks and balances is a veritable tool towards the eradication of corruption among our leaders.

The system of checks and balances is a situation whereby the executives, legislators and Judiciary serve as watch dogs against each other. when this is applied, the excesses of our leaders will be curbed, but the problem is that they dismantled the system of checks and balances, hence, the system is there just for principle.

We can change the world, only if we believe. Greater number of the citizens is apathetic to political activities, Some are apathetic out of ignorance and laissez faire attitude, because majority of the people are not interested in taking active part in political activities, our leaders therefore embezzle public funds and commit all sorts of evil.
