UNBRIDLED CORRUPTION IN NIGERIA

....Who will speak for our country Nigeria?
....Who will bail the country from infested maggot eating deep in the fabric of our country?

A situation whereby the leaders of the country are corrupt is the worst thing that can happen to any country. professor Chinua Achebe in work titled "The Trouble With Nigeria" clearly states that the problem of Nigeria is the problem of leadership. This is because most of our leaders if not all, are corrupt.
They put their interest before that of the nation. Hence, everything they do is for their personal aggrandizement, moreover, the largeness of the country is not helping, some have suggested that we imitate Ghana's way of tackling corruption, but where will you begin and where to end, it therefore boils down to disintegration since we cannot manage what we have.

ONn each accosion, the money earmarked for project end up in their corrupt officers account, the pen is ready weapon of the officers who are known to be corrupt, they use tool(pen) to change financial figures from hundreds to thousands etc thus enriching themselves in a fraudulent way. You and I are then left in the cold hands of unemployment, lacks of provision of basic amenities, abject poverty and disease.

Corruption has continued to remain in our society as an insurmountable social evil. Some people are of the opinion that it hs come to say as part ofour culture, right from Village square, Among the rural community, to the seat of powers in the government, there are obvious signs nd instances of unbridled corruption.

Similarly, educational institutetions are not left out, lectures printtheir handouts amd students are expected to buy them at fixed prices andif they fail to buy, reverse is the case. On more serious note there have been instances of sexual harassment by lecturersto female students in our higher institutions. All these and more constitute corruption

The approach by the government should be decisve and total and not seletive. the ill-gotten wealth of the officials are daily displayed on our streets in form of throwing parties, lavishly and riding in posh and luxurious cars which are worth millions of Naira. They constitue the bug sucking the riches of the country at the detriment of the poor majority and the money realized by the corruptnpublic officers are kept in foreighn bank, leaving Nigerian citizens to wallow in abject poverty
