QUIT NOTICE NOT ONLY FOR IGBOS BUT OTHER NIGERIANS LIVING IN NORTH – EVAH
The co-ordinator of Ijaw Monitoring Group, IMG and former advertising secretary of the Ijaw National Congress INC, Comrade Joseph Evah, noted that the ultimatum of Northern youth groups is not only for Igbos but all other Nigerians.
Evah stressed that the status of persons at home declared by the indigenous peoples of Biafra, IPOB and the Movement for the Updating of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, was very peaceful and would not have aroused such a reaction of Northern youth.
He said that the elders of the North should apologize to the rest of the country because there was nothing wrong with Igbos remembering their war heroes.
Eva said this when asking questions by Vanguard, adding: "The declaration of the northern youth was an action against all the other Nigerians, not just the Igbo. We are still waiting for their elders to apologize to the rest of the Their action is reprehensible.
"The action of the Igbo when they declared a demonstration sitting at home as a special day for their fallen heroes during the civil war was not provocative.
"Since God created the Igbo nation, this last participation in the house was the second important day in the life of the Igbo nation after the funeral of Ojukwu.
"The first important day was the day Ojukwu returned to Mother Earth. As far as I was concerned, Ojukwu was Ndigbo Black Moses.
"As I say, I am always in shock and disbelief that the men and women of Igbo will leave the account of Naira and Dollars and make sacrifice to sit at home to prove to the world that 'They are willing to sacrifice their time, money and energy in honor of Igbo integrity.
"The day Igbo stopped the southeast in honor of war heroes Biafra shows that Ojukwu is still a living hero. Why is the Igbo sitting at home to protest someone's anger ?
"I congratulate the Igbo, self-determination is a struggle all over the world: Blacks in America, despite Obama's production as president, are still not satisfied with the struggle for human rights.
"The struggle of June 12 against the Yoruba, some of us suffered for it, the coup against Muritala Muhammed was widely publicized Coup Coup on the overthrow of Gowon, the Orkar coup was largely A minority anger in the army at that time against the system.
"As long as the world exists, the struggle for self-determination will continue, and I was so happy that the Igbo are so peaceful and well organized in their Sit-at-home approach.
"What they did was more than an atomic bomb against oppression. I am so disappointed that some of my friends from the North are taking part in this dangerous act."
