WE PURCHASED WEAPONS THAT APC USES TO FIGHT BOKO HARAM - PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), senator Ahmed Makarfi's faction, said the Party has done more to fight the Boko Haram insurgency than the present All Progressive Congress (APC).

He also pointed out that these are the same weapons that the previous PDP administration bought that the federal government led by President Muhammadu Buhari used to pursue the counter-insurgency war.

This was stated in a statement signed and published by the advertising secretary of the National Party Committee (NCC), Dayo Adeyeye.

The party argued that if the CPA had maintained the success of the 2015 elections in the Northeast region, the fatal group would not have regrouped.

According to the PDP, prolonged breeders against innocent and harmless citizens across the country have aggravated the security situation in the country over the past two years than in the 16 years it has dominated.

The statement reads in part: "The situation of security in the country today has worsened with the attacks of the breeders killing innocent and harmless populations constantly and dismissing communities.

"The plague of pastoralists attacked across the country under the CPA is more than the activities of Boko Haram in the northeast.

"The PDP's efforts in the fight against the activities of Boko Haram still talk about its sensitivity to the preservation of citizens' lives and property, and if the APC had maintained the success achieved in the 2015 elections in the region Northeast, the fatal group would not have regrouped.

"It is also noted that it is the same weapons purchased by the previous PDP administration that the current government is still using to continue the war against the insurgency in the Northeast."
