HERDSMEN ATTACK IN ANAMBRA, MASSOB RAISES ALARM

Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and the Independent Movement of Biafran (BIM), yesterday raised the alarm on an imminent attack against the inhabitants of the State of Anambra and beyond by Herdsmen.

MASSOB-BIM Director of Information, Awka Southern Region, Paul Obiokoye, who revealed this, said that information that should not be treated lightly was gathered from the intelligence report through their satellite monitoring.

"According to the information gathered through our satellite, we have noticed that a group of Fulani are seriously trained at the Ama-Hausa axis of Nise Road in Amawbia.

We are therefore asking the Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano and the State Security Officers to be vigilant and take action because we will hold them in cases of attack ".

He urged the state government to investigate its claims and prevent any imminent crisis in the state. He noted that citizens have every right to enjoy their rights as enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Police public relations officer, Nkiru Nwode, said the state was immune to all indications, while people should worry about their normal businesses without fear.

Speaking of the successful outcome of the celebration of Biafran's birthday, the head of MASSOB-BIM for the South Zone of Anambra, Chief Arinze Igbani expressed his satisfaction with their conduct so far, He reiterated his previous appeal for the unconditional release of some of their members arrested on this subject by the police.

Igbani said that sharing the national cake can never be a solution to the bustle of Biafra.

Also, counsel for the group, Mr. Charles Ugo, wondered why the Biafrans had trouble getting out of Nigeria since the merger of 1914, which he said had expired two years ago after 100 years.

"Even the international community has recognized us now more than before, but I am particularly surprised at the government's resistance to our struggle because the agreement reached on our behalf by the British has expired and it is the Amalgamation of 1914 "We are not supposed to suffer for that at all," he said.
